There have been numerous rumored images of the upcoming 4th generation iPhone.  Engadget has just posted some images of what could be the next iPhone.

Apparently the phone was found on the floor of a San Jose bar inside of an iPhone 3G case. Right now we don’t have a ton of info on the device in question, but we can tell you that it apparently has a front facing camera (!), 80GB of storage (weird, right?), and isn’t booting at this point (though it was previously, and running an OS that was decidedly new).
While it is never certain when images leak,  this was shown in a recent twitter pic by TUDream In February. This could be it and if so I can’t say I am that fond of the design, but it looks as though it could be more durable than previous iPhone iterations.  The iPhone does not boot so there is no real specs to be revealed just yet.  We imagine we’ll see a lot of iPhone possibilities leading up to what is looking like a June release.

Just as in previous preparation for the upcoming iPhone launch, AT&T has again blocked its employees from taking vacations June. There is no official note from Apple yet on the actual launch date of the upcoming iPhone, but we can expect something at the worldwide developers conference just like years past.

That’s right, according to AppAdvice Netflix will be available for the App Store the day that the iPad comes out on April 3rd. If you have the unlimited membership already you will be able to stream the content directly to your iPad. If you were watching a film or tvshow on your Mac or PC, when you open the same flick on your iPad it will resume where you left off. The only odd thing about the rumor is the lack of iPhone app to go along with it.

On a side note, CBS and ABC are also preparing content for iPad that is ad-supported according to the Wall Street Journal. There is no certain release for their content, but this is definitely already proving the importance of the iPad as a computing and content consumption device.

Update: Netflix is now available on the app store for iPad

The ABC app is now live too

Back in February we explored the rumor that Hulu would be coming to the iPad possibly with a subscription.  There are more and more sources touting the rumor that Hulu is most likely on its way to the iPad in the future.  Apparently along with this comes the possibility of having to pay a subscription for the content when viewed on iPad.  While there is no doubt a Hulu app would be another great reason to own an iPad, but the cost of the subscription could make or break the whole idea.  There are certainly those who would pay for a subscription given a reasonable price, but what is wrong with the commercial model that works for the Hulu website?  Lets just hope more and more content providers jump on board and bring our content to every device possible.

The next iPhone rumors have suddenly begun to heat up and the round of suspected features continues to grow.  The feature list this time comes way of Daring Fireball in a sarcastic response to the Verizon rumor.  The features being leaked rumored are a new CPU from the A4 family, a front facing camera, 3rd party multi-tasking and 960×640 display.  While none of this can be confirmed, we can certainly hope these rumors to be true.  Apple will certainly have to entice 3GS users like myself to have reason enough to jump to the next iteration of iPhone.

Currently iTunes lacks the support of E-Books and as such it is no surprise that a new variant would be released shortly before the iPad launch.  The new features of iTunes will obviously cater to the iPad and the iBook store, but bring with it enhancements to the Genius Playlists and Auto Bit-rate conversions for devices previously unsupported, namely the iPod Shuffle.  This feature allows you to automatically convert your MP3 or AAC files to a lower bit-rate when moving the songs to the select device to conserve space.  There are other tweaks expected to make iTunes a better experience for all of us as well.  We can expect the release of iTunes 9.1 very very soon.
