The google maps application on the iPhone and iPod Touch have been great, but they lack one nice feature, street view.  The 2.2 Beta which has been seeded to developers has been said to contain the update which adds street view to Google Maps.  Also in the Beta which was seeded tonight to developers is a line-in app.

Windows 7 Screenshot Leaked

The picture above is a supposed leaked picture of the new Windows 7 Beta.  The site who had originally posted the pictures was asked to take them down, so this does have some credibility.  Windows has been trying to regain its following and one way to do that is to make Windows 7 look nothing like Vista and make it less system resource intensive.  The plan for "7" if correct, will offer just the OS with nothing else installed.  You can then go and download the add-ons for free from windows live if you so choose. A beta should be available soon to the privileged few and we should know more then.

Windows 7 is just about to hit beta and be released to some people who attend WinHec or at least that is what we hear.  The new update to the interface is now being called "Windows Scenic"" and is based on the Office 2007 Ribbon interface.  This is a good thing considering the "Ribbon" was quite a nice surprise to the Office user and is well thought out.  The new interface of each window will present you with a few icons which are smartly grouped into categories and removes the clutter of the current user interface.

Not much more information at this point, but if this is the direction of Windows 7, Microsoft is clearly making sure "7" is not met with the same negative press that Vista received.
