A new update for iTunes has become available.  It is currently available via the software update in OS X.

Via iTunes:

iTunes 8.0.1 improves stability and performance and provides a number of important bug fixes, including:

• Seamlessly plays the current song when creating a new Genius playlist.

• Improves syncing spoken menus to iPod nano.

• Addresses an issue of deleting HD TV episodes when downloading.

• Improves checking for updates from the App Store

• Improves accessibility with VoiceOver.

• Addresses problems syncing Genius results to iPod.

  Apple Insider has posted that the pre-release of Snow Leopard OS X 10.6 will be on its way to developers shortly.  This is the first release since the initial seeding during the annual developers conference in June of 2008.  

Snow Leopard is not a major upgrade, but an upgrade to the core of OS X itself.  The update is about optimization and core services rather than a feature set for the user.  There is no known planned release for Snow Leopard, but one could only guess it will be ready in January for MacWorld.

  Adium is probably one of the most used chat clients on the mac.  It not only allows you to use all the networks iChat does , but it also has support for many other networks as well.  The list includes Live Messenger, Yahoo, ICQ, Facebook, Lotus Sametime and many others.  Oh, and it’s open source.
