Apple released the Final Cut Express 4.0.1 update for owners to download. The update addresses compatibility issues with AVCHD camcorders, improves stability when using third-party FxPlug plug-ins, and addresses a number of other minor issues and is available via software update. Quicktime was also updated when they released the ProRes QuickTime Decoder 1.0. This is a new piece of software that allows users to play Apple ProRes files through QuickTime. Pro Res is a near lossless decoder for video which provides uncompressed HD quality at SD data rates. The quicktime update is available for both Windows and Mac.
