As if we did not have enough browser news last week, AOL has released a beta client for the Mac.  The release includes the typical AOL browser with links at the top for music, videos, etc and includes its AIM client.  The program was designed from the ground up for mac and does a nice job of looking Mac-like, but is not something for the typical Mac user.  The browser is slow and the buttons unnecessary for what most want.

This application must be aimed at the less confident home user or someone who is familiar with AOL.  It is nice to see AOL finally getting back in it for the Mac, but it seems like it might be too little too late.  The browser is still in Beta 1.53B and is free for the taking.
