So you sync’d your iPhone with your Mac or PC and waited for the long backup. Now you finally have the firmware installed and your iPhone and it is once again stable and much more functional, or so we hear.
The reports of all the bug fixes and improvements seem to be justified when you look around the community at Engadget, MacRumors, Apple Insider and others. People are very happy with the update and the iPhone that should have been from the start. The reports are that everything mentioned such as slow keyboards, menu navigation, app installs and syncing have all had major improvements to them. The reports of improved signals or less dropped calls needs a little more testing to confirm, but the way Jobs seemed to be annoyed during his keynote about all the un-Apple-like issues, bodes well with the community when we know they feel our pain.
Finally the iPhone can be used as well as the original iPhone 1.0. Oh and the update took a good hour to go thru with the very long backup.
