One of the biggest complaints from users of the App Store is that people can review applications they don’t own.  This is a problem if you have never used the app you review and then decide to just spam the reviews with your opinion without even using the application.  Instead of reading opinionated reviews, we can now read objective review, or at least that is the hope.

Starting today if you try and submit a review for an application you don’t own, you will no longer be able to submit a review for that app.  This new policy only makes sense, since you have had no overview of something you don’t own.  This policy adds a little more credibility to applications and should make the decision process better for us all when there is no trial option available.

Good to see Apple doing something positive with the app store with all the negative press it has received as of late.
