Last week there were some rumors of the ability to download Podcasts wirelessly from the iPhone.  This week that rumor has been confirmed via German blog Schimanke.com. The blog posted new screenshots from the iPhone 2.2 firmware that took the veil off the new podcast download feature.  Just last week the feature was not yet active.

The iTunes store screenshots confirm that Apple will allow downloading of both video and audio podcasts from the iPhone.  The podcasts will be limited to 10MB when downloading via the 3G or Edge network.  It is unfortunate that the Podcaster App creator was not given explaination of why Apple would not allow the app, but it is also no shocker, considering the secrecy Apple has surrounding its products.
