A developer has found a way to enable the tethering option that is within the iPhone 3.0 software. He was messing around with some carrier bundle files and somehow enabled usb and bluetooth tethering. The developer does not know how he does, but once someone figures it out you can bet a bunch of new developers will immediately appear. Apple has already stated that the 3.0 software has tethering, but they have not worked out the details with carriers yet. Once we hear how to do this we will be sure to let us know.
