The Mac App Store is now live.  The promised new way to purchase apps for your Mac can be had by using your software update on any Mac equipped with Snow Leopard.  The store launches with over 1000 Applications which include the likes of iWork and Aperture.  The prices are more reasonable too, with Aperture ringing in at a now affordable $79.99 and iWork now split up for those who don’t want the whole suite with Pages, Numbers and Keynote costing just $14.99 a piece.  The App store itself functions as a separate piece of software on your Mac and promises a pain free installation and update system.  We’ll be sure to put up an overview as soon as we have had a little time with it.
