A day before its launch, iFixit has once again managed to get a hold of the latest Apple iDevice and give it the teardown treatment.  Surprisingly, and useful for all of us, Apple has made this iPad more user serviceable than the iPad 3rd and 4th generations and the latest iPod Touch.  The glass covering the display is not fused as it’s rivals are from Amazon (Kindle HD) and Google (Nexus 7), making repair of separate components much more convenient and most likely less expensive.  The glass was also much less difficult to remove than previous iPads and according to iFixit “required less patience and a near-zero fear-factor.”

To view the full tear down with the always helpful step by step apartedness, head over to iFixit.
