Software Update: iPhoto 8.1.1

 On this weeks Software Update we have a fix for iPhoto.  Update 8.1.1 bring about some fixes to facial recognition accuracy as well as some online ordering issues. 

This update addresses issues affecting face recognition performance and accuracy. It also fixes minor issues in the areas of book ordering, and iPod touch support.

The update is recommended for all users of iPhoto ’09.

Apple Releases iLife 09′

 

 Today at MacWorld Apple released their new iLife 09′ suite of applications.  They have added quite a few features to iMovie such as image stabilization, geo tagging and different film styles.  iPhoto receives geo tagging and facial recognition, which recognizes faces ad allows you to tag them. Finally, Garageband was updated to include music lessons from various stars such as Sting, Norah Jones and Sarah McLachlan.  The app ships free with all new Macs and is $79 for single user and $99 for the family pack.

Picasa Adds Face Recognition to Ease Labeling Pains

  Google has again released yet another product, well this time a revision.  The program Picasa which many use for uploading and saving their picture files has received the blessing of facial recognition.  

 

The program now attempt’s to recognize the people in each picture by name given, and sort them to add simplicity to your Labeling of pictures.
