Software Update: EFI & Airport

  If you have not checked for recent software updates on your Mac you may want to open it up and give it a go.  The 1.4 EFI update addresses noise made by the MacBook optical drive during startup.  The other update is 1.0 for Airport client and addresses the following:

An Inability to turn AirPort on or off in some cases after upgrading from Mac OS X Leopard.

An occasional loss of network connection when using Wake on Demand.

  Apple formerly announced that August 28th would be the day that Snow Leopard will be available for purchase.

Snow Leopard will be available as an upgrade for Mac OS X Leopard® users for $29.

Java Update 4 For OSX 10.5 Version 1.0 Now Available

 

  Be sure to get this update which fixes some recently talked about vulnerabilities to OSX 10.5.  

 

Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4 delivers improved reliability, security, and compatibility for Java SE 6, J2SE 5.0 and J2SE 1.4.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.7 and later. This release updates Java SE 6 to version 1.6.0_13, J2SE 5.0 to version 1.5.0_19, and J2SE 1.4.2 to 1.4.2_21.
