Happy Windows 7 Day!

 

  Windows 7 is officially among us.  The long awaited Vista replacement/upgrade is a significant step in the right direction for the Operating system.  Windows has met the maturity of OSX and the differentiation is more of a preference than that of security and stability.  Windows has driven me to long nights and near insanity in the past with its numerous bugs and whatnot.  This time there has been little hair pulling since the first beta was made available.  Now we can all rest for awhile and have a worthy succesor to XP.  If you’re in the market for multiple PC’s or copies for Boot Camp on your Mac then check out the $149.00 family pack and save yourself some money.

Macworld 2010 Announced For Feb. 9-13

 

  The show will continue despite the absence of Apple’s presence.  Just a couple of months ago yielded our last view as Macworld as the yearly announcement preference of the Apple brand.  The 2010 expo will continue despite the rumors of it fading away into nothing.  The sessions should be about the same and although we can no longer count on Macworld for new products, you can bet Apple will have some things to show sometime around that time frame.

Ask.com Relaunch Focusing on 35-55 Year Olds and Faster Search

 

  Ask.com has revamped its site today in an attempt to get more market share and improve usability. Ask knows it will not get 20 year olds to use them for search and has refocused to the 35-55 age range.  Up to 15% of people using ask, ask questions to search (remember Jeeves?) and they aim to improve this by revamping the back end of their search engine.  The one noticeable difference we could find is the new increased speed of the returns on par with Google.
