Hardware Accelerated Doom Comes To Palm Pre
The major downside of the Palm Pre was its lack of hardware acceleration. Although the Pre has the same processor configuration as the iPhone 3GS, WebOS has not allowed access to api’s necessary to accelerate 3D games, until now. With the release of WebOS1.3.5 developers now have access to what is called the Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL). This allows people the ability to make such games as Doom possible on the Pre’s hardware.
