Twitter App Reveals TV Downloads For iPhone

The App Twitterfon which was released on 5/15/09 apparently gave away an upcoming feature that the iPhone will soon receive.  Tv shows have long been available to watch on your iPhone or iPod touch via a sync with iTunes.  It appears that now you will be able to download them directly on your iPhone.  While someone was browsing the app, 3 ads appeared which said "iTunes Movies’, ‘iTunes TV’ and ‘iTunes Movie Rentals’. When the app user tapped on one of the ads, they were brought to a familiar interface of which is incomplete.  There is not a whole lot of inforation on the availability of such features, but you can bet 3.0 and WWDC probably will have some part in it.  For more screenshots and information head over to Open Salon.

Amazon Releases Kindle App For iPhone

You want Amazon’s Kindle, but you already have a beautiful iPhone.  The dilemma which has plagued iPhone users for over a year now is over.  Amazon has realized that it would be pure lunacy for them not to release a Kindle app for the iPhone.  This is not just a simple app either, but a full fledge equivalent minus the e-ink and larger screen.  You can purchase books just as you would on the Kindle and enjoy reading for hours on your beloved iPhone or iPod Touch.  Amazon also has included Whispersync to allow you to sync where you left off on your Kindle with where you left off on your iPhone.  This is a win-win for all of us and should make all of us who cannot or will never purchase a Kindle, be satisfied that we have all the goodness of the Kindle in our iPod.

"To get it, simply sync your iPhone 3G with iTunes and click the ‘Check for Update’ button."  It seems strange that AT&T would want the update.  Maybe they are concerned about data usage or maybe they are afraid of jailbroken iPhones. Regardless,  you should update anyway. [Read]
