Microsoft Office Barred From Sale After January 11th, 2010

  Who would have thought that after all the years of Microsoft Office that it would be banned from sale due to patent infringement.  After a ruling back in May for the same issue, Microsoft appealed and this time lost.  The infringement i for Word’s handling of .xml, .docx, and .docm files of which infringed upon i4i’s patented XML handling algorithms.

Apple Purchases Lala, Subscription Please?

  This move is significant for Apple, purchase a small fairly successful company that offers a unique approach to music.  If you are new to Lala it is worth leaving this post and heading over immediately to check out. You can purchase songs for 10 cents to listen online or for a reasonable price to buy, usually cheaper than iTunes.  The one thing that makes this service very different is the client that scans your PC or Mac and then allows you to listen to what you already own, imagine that.

AMD Has “Significant” Announcement For Us Tomorrow

 

  AMD has just released that they are going to announce something "Significant" tomorrow.  This could be the split they had mentioned previously about breaking off their manufacturing and fabrication.  

 

This could be a great move for the chip maker.  It has been some time since AMD had the lead in processing and it would be great to see them offer something completely new.  We’ll know tomorrow for sure…

 

UPDATE:  According the Wall Street Journal, they have confirmed the company is splitting.  This is to keep the company going and make it more in line with its competitor(s).
