Softbank Gives iPhone Users an Extra Battery With TV Tuner

Softbank in Japan has just released a new add-on for the iPhone which allows you to charge your iPhone and at the same time have a TV tuner.  The product is only for Japan at this time as they expect TV tuners in their phones and the iPhone did not deliver.  It would be great to have such an add-on here in the U.S. and pick up HD broadcasts on our phones, but for now we’ll have to wait or import the tuner.

AT&T Offers Us WiFi at Starbucks and Others

AT&T has begun offering WiFi again at Starbucks for customers of the iPhone.  Included in our 70-plus dollar per month subscription, used to be WiFi at Starbucks and now they have brought it back for us to enjoy.  Apple also offers its subscribers free WiFi at airports, hotels, restaurants, bookstores and more, but the one thing they really need is a tethering plan. We iPhone connoisseurs pay enough to have the highly desired device.  Why is it we cannot get a simple tethering app to allows us to use the data we pay for?  Almost every smart phone currently offers an app which allows a laptop to connect with ease.  Anyway, it is good to see us get back some WiFi coverage and hopefully Apple along with AT&T hear our pleas.

New MacBook Air Now Shipping To Buyers

Apple has started shipping out the new MacBook Air to its buyers.  The revision of the MacBook Air includes the new NVIDIA GeForce 9400M as well as a choice of  1.6 or 1.86GHz processors.  People who have already received them are reporting they notice a noticable boost in performance due to the upgraded GPU, which takes a lot of the load off the CPU.  The MacBook Air is in a tough spot now that the new MacBook is even that much thinner.  It’s hard to justify the price difference as compared to the new MacBook considering specs and the new aluminum casing.  The MacBook Air has really become more of a niche product than even before.

New iMacs, Mac Mini November 10th, New Mac Pros at MacWorld Rumor

UPDATE:  “Our holiday line-up is set,” Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld

We have some new rumors surrounding Apple and what they intend to do in the near future.  Dennis Sellers of Macsimum News has said that November 10th is the date of the iMac refresh of which is just expected a bump in specs and display power.  The other interesting refresh comes in the way of a new Mac Mini.  We have heard there would be a refresh, then it was put in the trash bin and now it comes back refreshed on the same date as the iMac.  The other tidbit is about a new Mac Pro coming at this years MacWorld Expo.  The Mac Pro is up on specs right now, but lacks the most current hardware and the new "Display Port" for the new cinema display line which makes this a very plausable rumor.
