Mobile Me Faces More Trouble with Phishing Scam

  

  This is more of an alert than a news story, but if you are a subscriber to Mobile Me you may want to be careful of the email you receive.  A scammer is sending out emails redirecting you to update you account information.  The email asks for the usual internet phishing scam information such as username, password and credit card information.  The notification comes via Apple Insider and the email looks like the one below.  Be careful when they look too official…

Google and Yahoo Still Teaming Up in October

  

  Google and Yahoo will continue their transition to an ad partnership next month.  This news is not new as this was reported back in June of 2008,  the deal and suits coming against it are however.  The Association of National Advertisers has voiced its concerns via a letter to government regulators concerning the partnership and what it could mean to the industry.  The idea is that Google would place its ad services along side Yahoo search results in an attempt to have a strangle hold in search and ad marketing and would easily snuff out the little guys in search like Microsoft.

Apple Admits Kane Kramer Invented the iPod

  

  Apple gave credit where credit is due when it comes to the inventor of the idea for music players like the iPod.  Apple used Kane Kramer in a lawsuit when they needed to prove who held the acknowledgment of iPod invention.  When Kane Kramer was just 23 years of age in 1979, he created the IXI.  The credit card sized device held 3.5 minutes of music on its internal chipset, which is pretty impressive given the technology of the day. Kane did envision that capacity would grow with time and he certainly had it right.  He did try and capitalize on the idea, but that fell thru given the timing of the device.

Blue 8GB Zune Surfaces

  

  Here we have it, the first pictures of the new 8GB Zune.  The Zune was posted on Fry’s site for sale; an electronics store retailer for those who are not familiar.  There is supposedly a silver 8GB Zune as well, but no picture yet.  Now we just need bi-annual announcements from Microsoft and then everyone will get excited about the Zune instead of iPod, or not…
